Lemon Juice is a wonderful asset when removing gum from carpets and upholstery. Simply pour a small amount over the affected area and agitate with a stiff brush or rubber sanding block. Goo Gone helps with any sticky residue. It can remove unwanted labels, crayon, gum, and other sticky messes.
Goo Gone works on various surfaces including hard surfaces, carpeting, clothing, and hair. Make sure you take the time to read the label and follow all directions.

Vaseline can also be helpful in removing gum from hair. It is non-damaging and non-toxic. This method is safe for children and animals.

For removal of gum from clothing, you will want to use a Clothes Iron. Just place the clothing on a flat surface and cover affected area with a cloth. Run the hot iron over the area.
The gum will stick to the cloth. You may have to repeat this a few times to remove all of the gum.

Freezing clothing or carpet is almost guaranteed to remove all gum.
You can place clothing in your freezer or you can run a piece of ice on the affected area. Once the area is nice and cold you can peel or pry up the gum.

WD-40 is ideal for removing gum from the bottom of shoes. Spray it on the area and then scrub with a toothbrush to safely remove gum.

Cooking Oil will also work well on hair. Like the peanut butter, the oil breaks down the gum making it easy to comb out the gum.
