Job Title: Commercial/Janitorial Environmental Technicians


Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent, completion of ACS training program. Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate with clients and co-workers. Driver’s license/reliable transportation required. Smartphone required. 


What are Commercial/Janitorial Environmental Technicians expected to do?


Commercial/Janitorial Environmental Technicians are responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties. As exact tasks of janitorial technicians are not definite, these professionals must show flexibility in performing assigned duties as mentioned below. NOTE: All Environmental technicians shall be trained in the performance of 2 or more areas such as carpet cleaning, commercial, or residential cleaning. (See individual job description pages for these.)


Major Job Duties and Responsibilities for Commercial and Janitorial Environmental Technicians:

  • Empty and clean all waste containers. Remove waste paper and garbage from the premises to selected area; damp wipe container.

  • Dust all image frames, charts, graphs, and wall hangings.

  • Damp wipe all ceiling air conditioning diffusers, registers and other ventilating louvers.

  • Dust the outside surfaces of light fixtures along with glass and plastic enclosures.

  • Vacuum all mats and carpeted areas in workplace, lobbies, and corridors. 

  • Hand dust and clean all office furnishings, filing cabinets, fixtures, paneling, doorknobs, switches, windowsills and all other flat surfaces.

  • Keep bathrooms/sink rooms/ kitchen areas in a dirt free, tidy and arranged condition.

  • Wipe clean and buff all metal hardware fixtures and added brightwork including door kicks.

  • Appropriately clean and polish tile floor services as required.

  • Follow all security and workers rules and regulations. Damp wipe and buff all glass furnishings.

  • Dust and/or wash all index boards as necessary, eliminate fingerprints and smudges.

  • Clean entry door glass: indoor and outer surfaces.

  • Brush or dust mop floors.

  • Clean or damp mop exterior entry areas.

  • Remove all stains from vertical surfaces such as doors, door frames, around light switches, private entry glass and dividers.

  • Wash, clean, and sterilize all water coolers/fountains. Brush, with broom, all private stairways; vacuum if carpeted.

  • Keep watch over stairwells and clean or damp mop spillage. Clean/wipe down railings, ledges, and touch points.

  • Damp wash or clean any spillage in office and community areas as necessary.



Anticipated Scheduling 


Monday through Friday:

Start times range from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the shift lasting between 1-8 hours total. There are currently no shifts that go past 12:00 a.m.


Saturday and Sunday:

NOT A TYPICAL WORKING DAY, BUT OCCASIONALLY WILL HAVE WORK. 

Start times range from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the shift lasting between 1-3 hours total. 



Rate of Pay


The rate of pay for all ACS positions is determined at your interview. All ACS team member new hires shall be paid at least $14.00/per hour, with an increase after satisfactory completion of the ACS training program and positive work performance. We value our employees and try to compensate in a manner that reflects that. Hiring pay can vary with experience. The average range of pay for our team members is currently between $16.00- $18.00 per hour.
