Who We Are

Nicholas

Founder and owner of ACS was born and raised in Iowa. He learned his work ethic on the farm in NW Iowa, moving to Iowa City in 1997. Nick held various jobs primarily in food service and sales/marketing before helping a friend with his cleaning business. Nick moved to Missouri for a short time and when he moved back to Iowa, his friend was in the process of moving and selling his business. Having been eager to make his mark in the world and help others along the way, Nick seized the opportunity. He has taken the business to something that would barely support himself to a business that now provides income for several others and their families as well. Nick has always believed in helping others and his business follows that model. Not only does he help his employees by providing a job but encourages them to better themselves in any way they can even if it means they will leave his employ. Nick enjoys knowing that his company has an impact on the lives of those they serve whether it is a residential house cleaning for an elderly individual or a young couple with small children that are inundated with everything they have to do, or maybe it is a small company that needs to spend all their time developing the business, or it could be a large company with a thousand employees that cleaning tasks would overwhelm.There is a pride knowing that you are part of the community, serving others, and allowing them to be the best they can be by relieving them of the cleaning duties that weigh them down. Not only does he invest time in his cleaning company, but Nick also runs a nonprofit, FUAN – Families United Action Network that focuses on Family Law Reform, working diligently to educate others on the inequities of current law and spending hours lobbying for changes to help Iowa families and especially our children. Nick and his trained team put customers first. They like to say that they are, “cleaning up the world one job at a time.” That’s what makes them so special. Stay clean, my friends.

Nicole

Is our Office Manager and “everything girl.” She is proficient in office tasks and has taken over a lot of the daily employee and client communications. She is not only good at what she does, she exhibits a caring heart that makes her perfect for listening to employees faced with life challenges. Nicole willingly accepts extra responsibilities despite her busy home life with 3 children. Her past management experience makes her well suited for her duties and a natural to deal with any questions that clients may have. She has more than earned her position as part of the ACS family.

Paula

Meet Paula, our HR manager. Paula joined our team in 2014 as Office Manager after spending years homeschooling, teaching, running her own daycare, and working sales and retail. She has helped develop systems and organized the office, working with employees and clients. She is the proud mother of our owner as well as 3 other children. She and her husband Randy also have 4 grandchildren and enjoy being part of their lives. She has been active in community events, politics, 4-H, and church. Paula says that the heart of her home is no longer the kitchen but the office where all the action takes place. Paula is often referred to as “Mom” by our employees and loves playing that role.

Chis Swiser

Is the “Face of ACS.” He appeared in our made for TV commercial and as the “Stay clean, my friends” voice in radio commercials. Besides being the face of ACS, he is the Godfather demonstrating all aspects of how to be a good person, friend, great employee, and pillar of the community. Chris has been a friend long before ACS. We couldn’t ask for a better person to represent our company. He is a Cedar Rapids native, and he and his wife Laura are musicians performing locally.

Tearria

Is a member of our management team for our commercial cleaning staff. She is our employee and building management liaison as communications manager in addition to her regular management duties. She is soft spoken and always happy to help anyone that needs help. She is detailed in her approach to the job and training of new employees. She is both delicate and dedicated. Just don’t pop her bubble.

Jared

A.K.A. Twitch is a senior member of our staff providing services commercially AND residentially. He also assists with employee training and some office duties as well as other odds and ends. He does it all! As a Twitch moderator and computer “geek,” he has made himself a valuable team player. As a loyal and dedicated Environmental Technician, his computer skills have also made him an asset to the ACS office. He has taken video classes for helping us develop commercials. He is also a trivia buff and a Google master.

Seth

Is a member of the management team for our commercial services where he is responsible for training and quality control among other tasks. Seth has the distinction of being one of the original ACS employees even though he took several years off. He has also served as chief carpet shampooer during move-outs and knows his job well. Seth is also a trained massage therapist.

Makaela

Is a member of our management team for our commercial cleaning staff. She helps ensure Quality Control with all employees in addition to her regular duties. Makaela stands tall in our ranks as an employee ready to go the extra mile to help her teammates. She is a big fan of video games and anime and is currently a student at Le James. Her punk rock personalization of professionalism raises the bar for her teammates on how to be yourself and get the job done.
